My name is Josh Overmyer, and I’m a personal finance junkie. I started out reading the blog BudgetsAreSexy and it was definitely my gateway drug. Several years ago, the blog’s author J-Money created the personal finance content curation site RockstarFinance, and I fell down the rabbit hole of finance blogs from around the US and Canada.

I created my own blog to share the things that have worked for me, and more importantly, the things that have bombed spectacularly! It’s not all roses and puppy dogs in the investing and personal finance world, so I think it’s important that you hear both sides sometimes.

I’m the excited guy in the middle, hanging out with Brad and Jonathan from ChooseFI.

Once I started taking my personal finances seriously in 2010, I was able to increase my net worth from -$150,000 to over $300,000 (as of January 2020). I’ve only ever worked government jobs that paid between $40k-74k per year.

If you need to reach me, I am very active on Twitter @jovermyer1 or leave a message on any blog post and I always respond. Thanks for stopping by!
